This cucumber rose requires no tooth picks to stabilise it. This means there is less stability but it’s a lot quicker to make.
1. The trick is to cut a cucumber on a slant like this.
2. Use a vegetable peeler or mandolin to shave thin slices of cucumber. You will produce longer/oval slices because of the angling. The length of the slices is what provides the stability (helps wrap around the base of the rose).
3. Lay out the slices like so (in an overlapping manner).
4. Roll tightly.
5. As you can see the cucumber rose holds on it’s own.
Gently open the petals and place on top your drink to show it off.
